“My confession is that I am not into my extended family.
I am not rude to them and I like them okay. I just do not go out of my way be friends with them. I am nice to my husbands family but I don’t talk to them unless he calls them on the phone or until we go visit them. His family has dinner together every couple of weeks and a lot of them show, sometimes I just stay home with some excuse. To me they are his family and they are mine through marriage but I do not have a familial bond with them.
As for my own family chat with them often. My sister got married a couple of years ago and I barley interact with her husband. He is nice and I am friendly towards him, but that is it. The same thing goes for my brothers wife. I acknowledge them as my in laws and that we are family as far as the family tree goes, but that is it. They are not really family to me personally.
I am very introverted and I don’t talk much to anyone much other than the ones closest to. I have always been that way, and I am content with that.
Do you interact with your in laws often? Are you close to them?” — Patience
