“So my Daughter turned 2 in September. I want to potty train her but have no idea what to do or where to start :-/ Does anyone have any tips or advice for me? What to do/not to do? I have never had to potty train anyone or anything ever, I’m so lost :(” -Lydia

Here are a few responses from some mums:

“I found naked time to be the most effective.  I found with my daughters if they had anything on, including pants, they would pee in them.  If they had nothing on, they’d need to go and go to the potty instead of peeing themselves. It sounds gross, you will have to clean up a few messes, but that’s what worked for us, just after a few days.Good luck!” -Edna

“Get some real (cloth) training pants… You can find them in the market or any baby shop.. Let her practice sitting on her potty with clothes at first. Then incorporate potty time into her daily routine. Encourage her to try sitting on it after she gets up in the morning and after meals, etc. Be consistent and supportive. If she poos or pees on herself, be calm about it, but remind her that she needs to use her potty. Do not switch back and forth to diapers, except for sleeping. Commit to potty learning, Above all else, try to keep your emotions in check so you don’t give up.” -Ronke

“I also kept my daughter naked all day. It took my boys a bit of time but it worked. Also try sitting her on the potty 15 minutes after drinking.” -Kyel
