About Mumsbooth

Mumsbooth Africa is the public brand of Mumsbooth Empowerment Initiative, a registered nonprofit organisation founded in 2014 and dedicated to empowering women, children, and young people across Africa through entrepreneurship, digital skills, leadership, technology, vocational training, and economic empowerment.

Our first programme was launched in 2017, marking the beginning of our structured programme delivery. Since then, we have worked to equip women with the knowledge, skills, resources, and opportunities they need to start and grow sustainable businesses, while helping children and young people develop the skills to innovate, lead, and thrive in a rapidly changing world.

To date, Mumsbooth Africa has directly and indirectly impacted over 35,000 women and 6,000 children through its empowerment and development initiatives. We have delivered physical programmes and events in four African countries: Nigeria, Uganda, Ghana, and South Africa, while reaching communities across 10 African countries through a combination of physical and virtual engagement. Our work is supported by a network of 500+ volunteers working across 10 African countries, helping us extend our reach and create meaningful opportunities for women, children, and young people.

Our approach goes beyond training. We connect women to opportunities for business funding, markets, mentorship, digital skills, and enterprise development support, enabling them to strengthen their livelihoods, grow their businesses, create employment, and contribute to their communities.

Through initiatives such as Girls in Tech, Project START Academy, and HerCapital Africa, we continue to expand opportunities in technology, education, entrepreneurship, and access to finance for women and young people.

At Mumsbooth Africa, we believe that when women and young people have access to the right skills, resources, and opportunities, they can become powerful drivers of economic growth, innovation, and lasting social change across Africa.
